1/10/2017 - Zadie Smith date night

I had a date night with Stacy to go see Michael Chabon speak with Zadie Smith in the city. It was a cool experience. A little bit over my head but fun nonetheless. Good times with Stacy.

1/9/2017 - Rainy days and Mondays

1/8/2017 - We joined a gym!!!

We joined a gym today!! Excited to have a membership to the YMCA. They provide childcare! They provide free classes! They have a swimming pool! They have a sauna and steamroom! Excited to workout!

1/7/2017 - Makeshift

Poor Coley. He is completely over having to wear his cone of shame. We experimented with having him don a headband to protect his poor little ears. It was cute, but not effective.

1/6/2017 - Playdates

The boys' afterschool care is closed this week, so we are sharing day care duties with our friends. The kids enjoyed hanging out at Sebastian's house.

1/5/2017 - Just like your dog

Maybe this is Liam's way of being empathetic to Cole. Maybe it is just him being a goofball and donning his new hat.

1/4/2017 - Besties

I love that throughout the years that Finn and Dylan still remain best friends. With only one school year where they had the same teacher, they still play together daily. Hope that their friendship stays this way for a lifetime.

1/3/2017 - Poor baby

Our poor puppy is rocking the Cone of Shame right now because of itchy ear issues. He has been the saddest puppy lately. Hoping that we can take off the cone soon.

1/2/2017 - Playdate with KKW

We were happy to get one last playdate with Kai before they left for home. The kids love each other so much. I hope that they always stay this close as they get older. It's pretty sweet to witness this bromance.

1/1/2017 - New Year's Day

Stacy hosted a New Year's Day luncheon at her house today. We got to see the Hoshida's for a little bit. Delicious traditional Japanese New Year's food. Nice to ring in the New Years with the family.

12/31/2016 - New Year's Eve

We had the belated Kono Holiday party today at Miraku in Walnut Creek. It was nice to get the entire family together for delicious food and a mini reunion with most of the Kono's. The kids had a blast. All of the "kids" are getting so big. We ended 2016 with a lowkey get together at the Lin's. The kids and parents had a nice time and celebrated the East Coast New Year and were in bed by 10. Here's to more rest and relaxation in 2017.

12/30/2016 - Ramen with the fam

With Kim, Tim and Kai still in town, the kids had a blast at Oakland Museum of CA with the family while Jesse and I finished up our last day of work in 2016. We all met up for delicious ramen in Oakland Chinatown. Everybody enjoyed the food. So nice to get so much family time this break even while juggling work and this AWFUL cold.

12/29/2016 - Outside

Trying to make a point of getting the kids and myself outside much more often. We took a trek down to Dimond park. We actually did have fun despite the scowl on Liam's face.

12/28/2016 - Blur

Winter break has been fun so far, but the boys are definitely getting a little restless. With Jesse and I still working for most of it, they are little Tasmanian devils of pent up energy. I'm glad we are all keeping out sanity ... somewhat.
