1/6/2012 - Friday Night Solo Time

Jesse took the kids to a jumpy house party early this evening, so when I arrived home from work, I had the house all to myself. All the dry laundry got folded and put away, a load of laundry is tumbling in the washer right now. All the clean dishes were put away and all the dirty dishes were washed. So I am rewarding myself for a job well done with a glass of cab, a couple blog posts and some Happiness Project journaling. Though I love my kids and hubs, I love the solo time when I can get it! It comes so few and far between that I need to savor it when I get it.

1/5/2012 - Office Mascot

In an effort to declutter our house, Finn and I went through him car bin to see which vehicles he would like to get rid of and which ones he would like to keep. We were in agreement on most of the items to get rid of, except for the Power Truck. The Power Truck happens to be one of the coolest little cars ever.
1) It's a red monster trucl
2) It has a lightning bolt shape button on its roof
3) That lightning bolt shape button makes sounds
4) Those sounds include the most badass sounding song ever.
I have loved the power truck song since we first received it as a gift. I don't know how to fully explain how awesome the song is.
So anyways, back to the story. Finn wanted to get rid of it and I am too attached to it. The Power Truck now has a home in my office cubicle. Everytime some one needs a pump me up song, they just press the little lightning bolt and they feel like dancing. It's amazing and the newest hottest addition to my office. So happy the Power Truck can give such joy to both children and adults alike.

1/4/2012 - Can't hold me down

Little Liam doesn't want to be strapped in, held back, belted in or held off. Makes it a little tricky to get him to sit down at mealtime. With his really short attention span, his handlers (namely Jesse and I) need to feed quickly and effeciently otherwise he gets frustrated and loud. I feel like I have mastered his mealtime signals pretty well and can get through a meal feeding Finn, Liam and myself if need be. Mothers have superhuman powers!

1/3/2012 - Danger Kelsey

From Drop Box

I love this pic. Finn's little focused face as he puts together his crazy fort. Liam blurry in motion, crazily wielding the stick, waving it haphazardly around. Jesse, with the concerned look on his face hoping that his infant doesn't whack himself or others with his new found toy/weapon. I've started calling Liam by his new nickname of Danger. That kid is fearless, which is both bad and good. Mostly bad right now, because he doesn't necessarily have the motor skills to navigate through dangerous situations. But good, because I think that he will be a tough kid that never gives up ... even after failure. I think that's why he walked so early. As he was in the first stages of it, he fell down constantly, but was never deterred by that. He would just right back up and try again. Resilient. I admire that determination and hope that some of that rubs off on me. Everyone could use a little bit of that stuff now and then.

1/2/2012 - Zoo with the cousins

From Drop Box

We took a trip to the Oakland Zoo today with K, T & K. Though the animals were enjoyable to see, the main attraction is always the zoo rides. Finn and Kai enjoyed the train ride into the Australian Outback with K & T as chaperones. Can't say it enough that I am loving how close Finn and Kai are. It is too cute to see how happy they are to spend time together.

1/1/12 - Peekaboo

From Drop Box

Liam was the entertainment at the annual Kono family New Years' Party. He was walking from window to window in the playhouse playing peekaboo with his cousin's. Though he was his straightfaced self for most of the day, he spent a good 20 minutes cackling at the silly girls playing peekaboo with him. Charming the ladies already!

12/31/2011 - Christmas Bonus

From Drop Box

Everyone got to celebrate Christmas twice this year since Kim, Tim and Kai got into town after Christmas day. This is usually the case for us every year, but this year, Finn really gets the concept of gift opening and it is absolutely thrilling for him. The entire family spoiled both of the boys this year. Overwhelmed by generosity. Such lucky people we are.
