We are doing our best to make it to every Pre-K playdate to make Finny as comfortable as possible with the Kindergarten. It's been great for Jesse and I too, because we get to know the parents and students that will be attending Sequoia as well. Today, I took care of our neighbor's kid while Jesse helped them move into their new place. Their son Ben also assisted with the childcare. With the 3 kids in tow, I needed Ben's help. It was a fun and hot sunny day. We all are worn out. But I believe that a good time was had by all.

6/28/2013 - Heat Wave

After a Monday and Tuesday or rainy dreary weather, we are welcoming the warm weather to some extent. It has been steamy hot over here. I got home early on Friday and immediately brought out the kiddy pool for Friday evening cool down. It was necessary for the kids.

Today was one of those days that you treasure like crazy as a parent. I will remember this day forever. I felt so much pride and joy today that it felt like my heart might burst. Finny graduated from Preschool. I think that he is eagerly awaiting the transition to Kindergarten. Such a sweet sweet day. Feel so much love and emotion in one epic moment.

6/26/2013 - Simple Pleasures

I totally find such joy in simple pleasures like 20 minutes to paint my nails and blog while the boys watch a quick Netflix. Sometimes I just need solo time to spoil myself. Tomorrow my baby graduates from preschool. I think that I will cry like crazy. Feel proud and nervous. I resist change like crazy and have been nervous and sleepless lately. I know it will be fine I just am anxious for the transition.

My boys like to poke their sweet faces out the window when we're outside. Actually, when anyone is outside, they smash their gorgeous faces up to the screen and like to communicate with the neighbors through the screens.

6/24/2013 - Tough Day

Maybe it was a case of the Mondays, but the kids and I had a tough day today. I woke up just not feeling happy. There was this weird gloomy cloud over me all day. I didn't feel like going to work. I didn't feel very patient with the kids. I just felt blah. Liam definitely felt the same way this morning too. He woke up extra early and cried his eyes out when I told him that I had to go to work and that he was going to school today. He just cried and held on to me begging to go to Baachan's and screaming that he didn't want to go to school. He eventually calmed down and we headed our separate ways. I survived an insanely busy work day. When I went to pick up the kids, I made the mistake of throwing away Finn's post-school water cup. Apparently, he was not finished and the idea of me throwing out his cup before he was done, was totally devastating. Finn sat in the school hallway bawling his eyes out. Weird day. He calmed down too. The kids both got lollipops for dessert and all was pretty much well. Here's to better days ahead.

6/23/2013 - Hulk Hugs

Our little incredible Hulk (AKA Liam) just loves his brother to death. He also loves being his rambunctious little self. He was jumping on Finn's back and hugging him. Finn likes it for the most part until ... he doesn't like it anymore. We captured the love of our two little silly boys.

6/22/2013 - Morning at the movies

We took the kids to see Monsters University this morning. They actually did really well. Liam lasted about 2/3s of the movie. Finny last about 3/4s of it. Dying to know how it ends, but it was a fun adventure nonetheless.

We will have to try to take them to see Turbo when it comes out. Finn seems up for doing another movie again soon.

6/21/2013 - Bagel Friday

The kids were beneficiaries of bagel Friday. Anytime there is left over bagels and goodies at work, I try to bring some home for my boys. They indulged in a dinner appetizer of bagels. Surprisingly, they still were pretty good eaters at dinnertime.

Sometimes the only time I really notice how big Liam is getting is through pictures. I see him daily and don't really notice how much he grows each day. Our little baby is getting so big. It's both exciting and kind of sad at the same time.

Tonight was a costume bin night. I couldn't get a pic of Liam as Plex the robot to save my life. He moves to much. But I did get a great pic of Finn doing the Spiderman hand move with a sweet Finny smile on his face.

We love our little DemoLIAMtion Derby boy. He spent tonight attempting to ram his car into every person and item in his way. Luckily papa is quick on his feet and made a little tunnel for our crazy driver boy. Loving the light evening outdoor time.

Today was the last gymnastics class of the session. I had the boys take a picture with their coach, Coach Austin. He seemed like a really cool and engaging coach. I asked the boys to make a Tough Gymnastics face. It turned out quite cute.

My cousin's kids generously gave our boys their old light sabers. So far, there have not been any injuries in the multiple battles already fought. The boys are loving them!

6/13/2013 - Farewells at Fuddruckers

K & K take off for Taiwan tomorrow. So, the CA Kono/Kelseys (minus Jesse) met up for a farewell dinner at Fuddruckers in Walnut Creek. Burgers, Fries and 99 cent ice cream cones for almost all. Liam got a mini strawberry cone. Finn, little K, and I each had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Baachan got Birthday Cake Ice Cream. Jiichan got the Pecan Praline. Stacy got Mint Chocolate Chip. It was just delicious ice cream heaven!

We are all going to miss having K & K around. But we will be glad to see them in 6 weeks when they come back to the US via CA.

Finny needs some new kicks for school. So I found a great deal on some awesome Pumas (I was going to say cute, but not sure he would approve). My big boy is heading off to the big school in fall. I always had fond memories of buying new shoes for the new school year. Sticking with the tradition for my kids.

Tonight was DImond Night out in our neighborhood. We got to visit the restaurants and stores in our hood and get sample goodies. We met up with one of our neighbors. A good time was had by all. Nice to end the night with ice cream.

Today, Finn and I attended a birthday for a preschool friend. They hosted a pool party at their beautiful home. Finn had so much fun lounging in the pool. They also had a cool pinata. Our little Finny did a good job clobbering that sneaker full of goodies.

Every Friday evening we try to have a Friday night dinner out. The kids insisted on PF Changs for "spicy noodles" again. So we headed to Emeryville for some Barnes & Noble Train Table fun followed by yummy dinner out at PF Changs. On our way back to the car after dinner and frozen yogurt dessert, we noticed the Emeryville Fire Engine was parked in front of B & N. The kids had fun examining the beautiful fire truck.
