Jesse cashed in on his father's day gift today and took his flying lesson. His elation was indescribable. So glad to have been able to provide him with an experience of a lifetime. Crossed something off his bucket list. Feeling like a good wife today!!!

7/30/2012 - Saying our goodbyes

Tonight I said my goodbyes to my trusty Tercel. Tomorrow she heads off to the great autoauction in the sky. We donated the Tercel to St. Vincent de Paul. The towing company will be by tomorrow to pick her up. She was a lovely and trusty car and lived quite a good life. She may not have been the prettiest car, but she got me through my last couple years of college and my first couple years of working life and delivered Jesse to work daily for almost over 5 years. Thanks for the memories!!

7/29/2012 - Biker Gang

We loaded by the minivan and headed down to Lake Merritt with 2 bikes, a Skuut and a bike trailer. Finn was a total trooped and Skuuted the entire 3 miles around the Lake and still had the energy to play at the playground at the end. What a lovely Oakland Sunday bike ride. So fun!!!

Today we attended a Jack and Jill Baby Shower for my friends Sara and Tim in San Francisco. We brought along FInn's Skuut bike so he could roam around the picnic area. Liam definitely made his way around the party as well. Both boys zonked out on the ride home. Pooped from a fun party!

My sweet Liam turned 18 months old today. He woke up extra early and we had breakfast together. His latest thing is that he likes to sit on the kitchen chairs without the booster seat. Dangerous, but pretty freaking cute. Can't believe that 18 months ago I was still carrying this little stinker in my belly. Though he can totally exasperate me at times, I wouldn't change a thing about my little Li.Love our tough guy!

They are becoming such good buddies that when I ask Finn who is best friend is, he always replies Liam before anyone else's name. Love this pic. I know that they will always have each other to lean on for life.

We took an evening walk down to the local ice cream shop tonight. Liam got the best of many worlds by tasting three different flavors of ice cream. His sweet big brother immediately shared his sour melon sorbet with Liam. Liam was a happy camper tonight.

We always knew that our little Liam was smart, but who knew how quickly he would pick up other languages. I give his preschool teachers the credit for the Spanish. Baachan and Jiichan get credit for the Japanese. This picture depicts Liam screaming "SOTO", which means outside in Japanese. Jesse and I couldn;t help but laugh and smile as he screamed to go outside on the surprisingly cold July evening at bedtime.

The boys spent some time together tonight letting mama blog, and papa wash dishes. Loving that they like playing together by themselves sometimes. The boys are growing up so fast. I know that one day I will wish for them to play with me, but for now I am appreciating having some me time while they amuse themselves.

Our two little superhero boys were back together today. They spent an hour on this warm Sunday evening running, scooting, Skuuting and playing in the back carport area. I asked the boys to give me their best super hero faces as Finn was donning his Superman Tee. This is what I got. Not sure it's threatening, but it's pretty cute!

So apparently, the mini KitKat post school treat on the drive home was not a good idea. Here's the scenario. At school, both kids strapped in their car seats ready to head home after a long day. Mommy got the kids each a little treat from the work candy bin. Liam gets half the Kit Kat and Finn gets the other half. I drive the 5 minutes it takes to get home and this is what I see when I get out the car to take them out of their carseats. Hilarious and embarassing. Chocolate facial for our little Liam.

Today we went to Pleasanton to have early dinner at PF Changs with B & J and the Teranishis. Fun celebration for both Baachan's and Auntie Gerry's birthdays. This was one of the few moments where Liam was not moving around. I swear he was nonstop all dinner long. Exhausting.

Our little Tercel got into an accident on Friday. After 17 long years of service, she is going to be put to rest and today was replaced with a newer bigger model. Jesse couldn't be prouder of our new rocking minivan. See the pride!

The kids did great staying with Baachan and Jiichan. In fact, they slept through the night for them on the first night. Baachan must be encouraging us to do more overnights since she bought both boys matching sleeping bags. Might be too heavy for our little man to carry it.

Beth married Juan today on a lovely breezy sunny Southern California afternoon. I cried with joy when the acoustic guitarist played Train (can't stand this band) and I saw the beautiful bride walk down the aisle to her lovely and adoring husband. It was a college reunion with friends that I had not seen in years. Such a fun little trip. Just reminds how lovely our wedding day was.

Jesse and I headed down to Orange County this morning for a wedding of my dear friend and college roommate Beth to the love of her life. I absolutely adore this couple and can't wait to be a part of their special day. The ceremony is being held at her sister's gorgeous house in their backyard. Here's to rehearsing for the real deal. We took a spontaneous adventure to the city today to take the kids to the Zeum. I had been there previously, but Jesse had never experienced it. I knew that he would love it! We had a blast just playing with clay and blocks and photoshop. I am sure that Jesse might just take a trip there alone without the kids just to play with all the fun stuff at the Zeum. So fun!

I took the boys out for a mini trip to Target. I love that they don't mind heading out shopping with me. But I suspect it's because they always get to partake in a Starbucks treat following the errand. Liam drank that Chocolate milk down.

Everyday that I pick up the boys from Chatham we have a little routine. I always get Finn first and then we go into Liam's room and watch him eat snack while Finn reads books from the Rollie Pollie library. Liam wasn't in a snacky mood today, so they both lounged on the cute blue little couches and read books. So cute.

We had a little jaunt to the Alameda County Fair today. Finn got to ride on some crazy carnival rides. And we ate fatty carnival food. It was a funny experience. Next year we will remember to bring Liam's stroller.

A coworker and good friend is making the move cross country to live in New York. Her husband got her dream job in Brooklyn at a hospital there and she is following a big dream to live in NYC. We celebrated her going away with a surprise lunch and winetasting in Livermore at Concannon. Nice to have a girls day out to celebrate a great friend. I will miss her like crazy.
