8/30/2013 - 5 years

5 years ago today, I was sitting in a birthing suite in beautiful San Francisco during Labor Day weekend, very much in labor. 24 hours of pain, fear and joy led to the arrival of my beautiful sweet baby Finn. 5 years later, I still love being a mother to this week boy. 5 years later, I am a permanently changed individual in the best way possible. Both of my lovely boys have taught me to be brave in the face of challenge. Both of my lovely boys have taught me that play and work intermix perfectly. Both of my boys taught me the meaning of unconditional love. If I had to do it all over again, I would willingly go through hours of back labor and weeks of morning sickness just to have these 2 lovely boys again. Beyond worth it!

5/12/2013 - Mother's Happiness

From Drop Box
My two biggest joys in life are my little boys. They are the happiest, silliest and most loving little bugs ever. I just adore them!
From Drop Box
My Li may be a tough guy, but he is a total lovebug to the ones that he knows and trusts. He is my little shadow most of the time. I love that he is a total mama's boy. I love that he is fearless and strong minded. He loves fiercely and will always fight for what he wants. I love that he is goofy and active. I could talk to him for hours about what he is making me for lunch.

My Finn, oh my sweet Finn. His beautiful joyful smile makes my day everyday. He is smart, sensitive and caring. I love your innate sense of empathy. I swear you were born caring about the needs of all others. Both my boys make me so proud. I love motherhood. It is the most challenging job that I have ever taken on, but it is the most lucrative in terms of life experience and joy!

5/9/2013 - Mama's Day Program

From Drop Box
We had the most amazing mother's day performance by Finn's class tonight. They sang 3 songs and recited a sweet poem. Then some of the kids went up front and told their mother's why they love us. Finn thanked me for tucking him in every night and flossing his teeth for him. Then he gave me a few sweet presents and a card. I love my kids and love motherhood. I think we should celebrate our kids this weekend for bringing us the joy of motherhood.
